In light of the news at the weekend; Boris Johnson surprising us all with the revelation of a second National lockdown – again we must react quickly to ensure our businesses are prepared, our employees are well-equipped and our customers are being served.
If confirmed by parliament, the new restrictions announced on Saturday will see England in ‘lockdown’ for four weeks (5th November to 2nd December) in an effort to combat the rapidly-rising Coronavirus infection rate.
REVIEW PREVIOUS LOCKDOWN
A second lockdown is no doubt an incredibly scary prospect for all businesses, but we must adopt a calm, structured approach and first of all review what happened in our businesses during the first lockdown:
– What worked for your business?
– What didn’t work?
– What have you learned?
– What could you have done differently or better?
BUSINESS CONTINUITY AND CONSIDERATIONS
As restrictions tighten, your team may be required to (or choose to) work from home. At INFINITY we too are currently working remotely and plan to do so for the coming months.
To mitigate impact on business performance and user experience, here are some of the key considerations for remote working:
– What internet speeds will my employees have at home?
– What equipment will employees be using?
– Are home devices going to be adequately secured?
– Will employees require any local configuration?
– Are all required accounts and passwords accessible?
– Can calls be diverted from the office to mobile devices?
– Are there additional software requirements for internal communications?
– Is remote working likely to be a long-term requirement?
