[CORONAVIRUS UPDATE] LOCKDOWN 2.0: IS YOUR BUSINESS PREPARED?

[CORONAVIRUS UPDATE] LOCKDOWN 2.0: IS YOUR BUSINESS PREPARED?

In light of the news at the weekend; Boris Johnson surprising us all with the revelation of a second National lockdown – again we must react quickly to ensure our businesses are prepared, our employees are well-equipped and our customers are being served.

If confirmed by parliament, the new restrictions announced on Saturday will see England in ‘lockdown’ for four weeks (5th November to 2nd December) in an effort to combat the rapidly-rising Coronavirus infection rate.

REVIEW PREVIOUS LOCKDOWN

A second lockdown is no doubt an incredibly scary prospect for all businesses, but we must adopt a calm, structured approach and first of all review what happened in our businesses during the first lockdown:

– What worked for your business?

– What didn’t work?

– What have you learned?

– What could you have done differently or better?

BUSINESS CONTINUITY AND CONSIDERATIONS

As restrictions tighten, your team may be required to (or choose to) work from home. At INFINITY we too are currently working remotely and plan to do so for the coming months.

To mitigate impact on business performance and user experience, here are some of the key considerations for remote working:

– What internet speeds will my employees have at home?

– What equipment will employees be using?

– Are home devices going to be adequately secured?

– Will employees require any local configuration?

– Are all required accounts and passwords accessible?

– Can calls be diverted from the office to mobile devices?

– Are there additional software requirements for internal communications?

– Is remote working likely to be a long-term requirement?

THE GROWING IMPORTANCE OF MANAGED IT SERVICES

Remember there are businesses out there that can ease the pressure of COVID-19, help you to adapt your IT operations and assist in maintaining business as usual.

By partnering with a Managed Service Provider you can ensure that you are prepared for a multitude of scenarios well in advance, in addition to minimising the risk of major disruption to your business.

Has your business put off investing in Managed Services in the past? These services may not have been deemed valuable in the past, but with the increased pressure and demand on internal IT teams, additional outsourced support is proving to be a safety net for businesses having to adapt quickly to a forced digital change.

SERVICE LEVELS

Please rest assured that our robust cloud-based infrastructure means that we can continue to deliver our industry-leading levels of service whilst working from home. It is our job to keep your business up and running and provide seamless support.

If required onsite at your business premises, we are operating a strict health & safety policy with all of the necessary COVID-safe steps in place to protect both you and our employees.
